What type of laser do you use?

We use the Multiwave Locked System (MLS) Therapy Laser to administer treatments to your pet. The laser uses therapeutic wavelengths to penetrate damaged cells and stimulate recovery. This speeds up the healing process, decreasing inflammation and pain in the process. One of the features of this equipment is controlled laser energy, which ensures measured doses of light target the treatment area, which creates more consistent and repeatable results. This also ensures your pet’s safety.

What are the benefits of the treatment?

Laser treatment can support pain management and healing for various conditions, including arthritis, lameness, mobility disorders, disc disorders, post-surgery orthopedic procedures, hip dysplasia and wounds. Some of the ways laser therapy is beneficial for patients with these conditions include:

  • Relieves chronic (arthritis) or acute pain (trauma or injury)
  • Decreases inflammation in the treatment area
  • Stimulates healing of damaged tissue
  • Speeds up the recovery of the structural integrity of the injured area
  • Improves local blood circulation
  • Postoperative pain relief and faster wound healing

How long does it take to see results?

It typically takes four to six treatment sessions before we start seeing positive changes in your pet, however, all individual pets take their own time to adjust to the
treatment plans created. We complete a comprehensive exam before your pet’s first treatment session to create a customized plan unique to their condition. Each treatment takes 15-30 minutes, and you have the option of waiting in the front reception area or in your vehicle.
