Kaitlyn Harvey

RVT
Clinic Health and Safety Rep
Hello, my name is Kaitlyn or Kait, and I have been an RVT at Sears Animal Hospital since April of 2021. I graduated from Ridgetown College University of Guelph in 2014 and have spent the last 10 years of my life working with animals.
I have taken care of furry, hairy, scaly and feathery pets and have worked in emergency, referral and general animal practices. There are many things that I love about my career but my “true loves” in veterinary medicine are dogs and pet rehabilitation. My first job working with animals was at a referral and pet rehabilitation practice where I worked as an animal care attendant. It was there, where I watched a dog learn how to walk again after back surgery, that I fell in love with pet rehabilitation. Now, I have finally begun the process to become a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner, and can’t wait until I graduate!
I share my home with a white male cat named Olaf, who was found on the side of a road 5 years ago. My 3-year-old, 5lb, little chihuahua named Penny who gets away with everything. Bullet, my sweet 13 year old chihuahua who also acts as my “door bell”. Then there is Dakota, she is a mixed breed medium dog who never stops shedding and she is 15 years young. In my spare time I love being outdoors and going camping with my dogs. In fact, there is not much I do without my dogs. They are my family and their happiness reminds me everyday why I am proud to be an RVT, to make a positive difference in the lives of animals.
